About the Role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a reputable organisation and oversee payroll operations for multiple subsidiaries. This role will suit a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring others, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate payroll outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process fortnightly and monthly payrolls in accordance with legislation, standards, and internal procedures
Provide guidance and support to two Payroll Officers, including task allocation and workload coordination
Collect and record payroll data for all employees, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory requirements
Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries in line with policies and legislation
Prepare routine and ad-hoc payroll reports, including salaries, allowances, and payment summaries
Maintain accurate payroll data and administrative records in relevant systems
Complete year-end payroll reporting and liaise with the ATO and external stakeholders
Manage monthly Payroll Tax lodgements and annual group submissions
Support payroll account reconciliations and year-end financial reporting
Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and payroll processes
Skills and Experience Required
Minimum five years’ experience in a similar payroll role
Strong understanding of Awards and relevant state legislation
Experience with Pronto and Frontier systems highly regarded
Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach
Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to meet deadlines
Highly motivated, proactive, and outcome-focused professional
