Founded on one of the world’s richest goldfields, Bendigo is a vibrant regional city with a strong arts, culture and food scene. A not-for-profit organisation, Bendigo Heritage is responsible for the management of Bendigo’s leading heritage tourist attractions: Central Deborah Gold Mine, Bendigo Tramways and the Bendigo Joss House Temple. In addition to tourist operations, Bendigo Heritage also runs a successful manufacturing arm at the Bendigo Tramways Workshop, undertaking tram restoration and repurposing projects for a range of clients.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join our team as the Senior Visitor Services Officer to ensure all visitors have a positive experience at our attractions and in Bendigo. This is achieved by assisting in the sale and up-selling of tours and merchandise whilst also providing administrative support across the Tourism and Marketing Department. Duties will be carried out across Bendigo Heritage sites.
To be successful you must:
Provide excellent, efficient, and friendly customer service to all visitors.
Operate an online booking and POS system, EFTPOS, and cash handling.
Successfully prepare and sell food and beverages, tour products and merchandise.
Comply with Food Safety and OH&S compliance operations.
Support the retail gift shop with merchandise displays, pricing stock, store layout, and advising of stock levels.
Assist with the successful delivery of aligned projects, tours, group bookings and functions.
Provide administration support across the Tourism & Marketing Department, including retail and group bookings as required.
Other duties within training and competencies as required.

Effectively organise and manage groups of all ages and backgrounds.
Sound time management skills.
Ability to follow procedures accurately, effectively, and efficiently.
Ability to keep calm and work under pressure in varying conditions.
Ability to manage emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
Able to work as part of a team.
Intermediate computer skills – MS Word and Excel, SharePoint, email, and internet.
Knowledge of Bendigo and local tourist attractions.
Experience in hospitality and customer service.
Availability to work weekends, school holidays and public holidays as needed is essential.
All Bendigo Heritage employees and volunteers are required to have a valid Working with Children Check.
