About The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Systems, this full-time, permanent position sits within Melbourne Water’s Finance team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the financial and risk systems, ensuring they run smoothly and are continuously improved. You’ll also lead business improvement initiatives that support Melbourne Water’s strategic goals, helping to create more efficient and effective ways of working across the organisation.
- Maintain and manage all finance & risk technologies within the Finance, Risk & Commercial Services (FR&CS) team (TechOne).
- Maintain and enhance the integrity of the Finance system, ensuring accurate reconciliation across the ledgers and modules
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and integration related issues whilst overseeing the implementation of long-term solutions
- Ensure team is optimising level of customer service by providing user training and guidance on financial systems and reporting tools
- Partner with IT, Finance and business stakeholders to align system capabilities with business requirements and deliver smarter and more streamlined processes..
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes with system rollover, system reconciliation and analysis
- Play a pivotal role in system upgrades, enhancements and integrations in collaboration with IT and external vendors
About You
- Tertiary degree in Finance, Commerce and/or Information Systems.
- Extensive experience in accounting roles with a focus on Financial systems or systems accounting, including implementations and upgrades
- Strong knowledge and experience of complex financial technologies management e.g., general ledger, query and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience using TechOne is essential.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and good skills in Microsoft Word.
- Strong financial modelling skills – ability to quickly analyse large amounts of data.
- Understanding and application of financial & risk policies, guidelines and internal control procedures.
- Strong analytical, variance analysis, forecasting and accounting skills.
- Understanding and experience or RPA is beneficial.
