Senior Accountant - Financial Services (previous Financial Services experience not required)

A well-established financial services business seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join a small, commercial finance team. This is a high-impact role with a large focus on budgeting, cash-flow management and the finance systems go-live.

This is a 6-month contract with a view to extend and would be a good role for working holiday visa travellers or candidates with permanent work rights

What you'll own

• Lead monthly re-forecasting of budgets and produce clear variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain cash-flow reporting to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Support the go-live of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central - account clean-up, reconciliations, mapping, and testing to ensure a smooth transition.
• Execute month-end close tasks: journals, accruals, reconciliations and regular management reporting.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and modelling to support commercial initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to strengthening controls and documentation.

About you

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is highly desirable (or experience with similar ERPs).
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills; strong attention to detail.
• Effective communicator who can partner with non-finance stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where recurring tasks sit alongside project work.
