In-House Legal & Compliance Lawyer – Professional Services

A leading professional services organisation is seeking a commercially minded Legal & Compliance Lawyer to join its national team. This is a rare opportunity for a qualified lawyer to move into a business-facing role that blends legal expertise with governance, risk, and compliance.

About the Opportunity
This newly created role sits within a specialist team focused on operational integrity and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management and Compliance, you’ll work across a broad portfolio including legal risk, quality systems, client onboarding, and data governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the development and implementation of risk and quality frameworks aligned with ISO standards
• Advising on professional conduct, legal conflicts, and regulatory obligations
• Assisting with client onboarding, including AML/KYC compliance
• Reviewing commercial contracts and supplier agreements
• Contributing to privacy, data protection, and cyber security initiatives
• Conducting internal audits and delivering training across the business
• Collaborating with senior stakeholders including General Counsel, Ethics Committee members, and business leaders

About You
You’re a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years’ post-admission experience, ideally gained in a commercial law firm or in-house legal environment. You bring:

• Strong contract review and compliance experience
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
• A genuine interest in governance, ethics, and operational excellence
