GBV Technology is looking for a Compliance Engineer to work in both the R&D and operations areas. This person will have the opportunity to head the compliance and standards required for the vehicles to enter service in various countries. Initially for New Zealand and Australia but expectations are for international growth. This role involves the overseeing of all legal requirements to enter service including mechanical, electrical, braking, structural compliance of our products.
The role involves ensuring our products are design and tested to meet the required regulations by first establishing what the regulations are required and then putting the necessary testing/documentation in place. It involves the complete follow through of the testing and final compliance. This also includes HAZOP and Risk assessments.
This innovative company has previously designed and developed products such as New Zealand’s first hydrogen fuel cell bus, New Zealand’s first hydrogen fuel cell 50 Tonne truck, the world first hydrogen fuel cell foiling Chase boats for the Americas cup. This world leading success has been acknowledged by GBV taking out the innovation excellence award in the New Zealand Hydrogen Summit. The department is a small highly motivated innovate team working together to produce highly advanced products for New Zealand and internationally and the compliance engineer plays a key role in this.
Key requirements:
· Strong understanding of the implementation of standards, especially NZ/AU and ADR (Australian Design Rules)
· Strong understanding of risk assessments and the management of these
· Capable of accurately producing and storing of technical documents
· Strong documentation skills and revision control
· High level of project management
· Be able to work through testing requirements and implement required testing
· Liaise with external certifying companies to achieve compliance
· Current New Zealand work visa
Nice to have:
· Heavy vehicle certification experience
· NZTA heavy vehicle certification
· Prior standards testing to international standards like ISO/ECE
