About the Role

Mahob at Moo's is a café and restaurant located in Meeniyan, a small town in South Gippsland 2 hours’ drive out from Melbourne, Victoria. We are looking for an experienced chef to join our small close knit and talented culinary team. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work in a vibrant café restaurant environment and to contribute in the creation of high-quality dishes.

What you’ll be doing

· Food preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard and to menu specifications

· Ensuring all food preparation and cooking processes adhere to food and safety regulations

· Understand and practice high level hygiene processes in food preparation, storage and cooking

· Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

· Manage and oversee stock and ordering and inventory control

· Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and maintain consistency and efficiency

· Supporting our front of house team where needed

What we are looking for

· Proven experience as a chef in a busy café or restaurant environment

· Minimum of 1 year experience as a chef

· Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (mandatory)

· Strong culinary skills and a passion and understanding of food and love of creating high-quality meals

· Excellent time management, problem-solving and multitasking skills

· Can do attitude and an eye for detail.

· Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

· A team player that can work collaboratively as well as independently when needed

· Availability to work on weekends
