Due to significant growth and demand within our South Australian business, we are seeking a Leading Hand to join the Commercial Building Construction & Facility, Building and Maintenance Services team.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Ensuring project construction activities are carried out in a safe manner.

Manage and integrate subcontractors, building strong relationships with clients, project teams, and suppliers.

Interpret project documentation (drawings & specifications) to guide the team, ensure quality, and maintain compliance.

Proactively identify and resolve site issues, manage defect rectification, and maintain accurate daily records.

Lead and support the onsite team, fostering a collaborative, safety-conscious environment through continuous communication

Execute a variety of hands-on labouring and carpentry works

Basic carpentry skills are required for this position

Assist Site Managers in completing required documentation such as daily forms, safety pre-starts and other such forms.

Assist Site Manager in monitoring the quality of work being performed on site and that it meets the requirements of the project.

When acting as Site Manager, liaise with Project Manager regarding time and costs parameters

Assist, and when required, be responsible for the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans.

Order materials and other project related goods and services

Liaise with members of the public and stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have the following:

A minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role is essential

Demonstrated commitment to delivering projects on time to schedule

Someone who is hard working, reliable, motivated and shows a strong sense of initiative

A can-do attitude

Strong commitment to safety

White Card certification is required

Excellent communication skills

Be fit and healthy and prepared for physical manual labouring work

Be able to lead/manage small teams

Be able to work within a team in a hands-on capacity

Current driver's licence essential
