Gourmet Poultry is hiring a Trades Assistant with Forklift Licence

Are you a reliable and skilled trades assistant with a valid forklift licence, looking for a stable, casual role? Gourmet Poultry is a leading name in the poultry processing industry, and we are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated team member to join our processing facility in Cavan.

About the role
In this key position, you will be a vital part of our production team, providing essential support to tradespeople and assisting with general factory operations. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role where your forklift and trades assistant experience will be highly valued.

Your responsibilities will include:

Operating a forklift (LF licence essential) to safely load, unload, and transport materials and finished products throughout the facility.

Assisting with maintenance tasks, workshop duties, and general labouring as required.

Supporting the production flow by moving raw materials and finished goods to designated areas.

Performing general warehouse duties, including manual handling and organising equipment.

Adhering to strict food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

What you'll bring

A current and valid Australian drivers’ licence and forklift licence (LF).

Proven experience as a trades assistant or in a similar industrial/manufacturing environment.

Experience in the poultry or meat processing industry is highly regarded.

A strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.

Physical fitness and the ability to work in cold, fast-paced processing environments.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
