The Organisation:
A well-respected QLD Government Department is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. You will be working for an organisation that has played a significant role in directly impacting the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. You will be reporting to a manager who is knowledgeable, supportive and considerate of her staff. The team environment is friendly, helpful and tight-knit. This will be a 5-month temporary role with a strong possibility of extension.

In this position, you will be required to:

• Use your tax skills to assist in the preparation of this Department’s consolidated annual FBT return and assist with GST taxation compliance reviews.
• Assist in providing FBT data to an external accounting firm in order to meet deadlines
• Undertake independent reviews of data accuracy

Your Profile:
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to assume complete responsibility for your role and will need a thorough knowledge of FBT and GST.

You will demonstrate knowledge of accounting concepts and strategies, and taxation legislative requirements.

• Illustrate in depth exposure to preparing FBT returns and deep understanding of FBT legislation, relating to fleet/ Motor Vehicles in particular
• Demonstrate experience in the use and development of medium/advanced Microsoft Excel skills, transactional data analysis and reconciliations to identify non-compliance to taxation and procedural requirements.
• Prior experience with SAP - ECC6 is desirable but not a requirement
• Ability to work well within a team to achieve results and meet deadlines
