Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Government Department to recruit an experienced Management Accountant on a 6 month contract basis, located in Brisbane CBD. You will be joining a high performing team with a very well established leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Analyze costs and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.
• Conduct variance analysis and present findings to management.
• Support strategic planning with financial data and trends.
• Ensure robust internal controls and financial compliance.
• Collaborate with teams to track and enhance performance metrics.

Qualifications:

• ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly.
• Proficient in accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills are very highly regarded.
