About the Role
The Report Writer will play a key role in supporting the VET Workforce Project, a major Commonwealth initiative focused on addressing the challenges of attracting and retaining a skilled VET workforce in Australia.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high quality reports and workplans that translate complex data and research findings into clear, actionable insights for a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners.
Working closely with the Project Manager, VET Workforce, the Industry Intelligence team, and other internal stakeholders, you will ensure all reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with ISA standards.
This position is critical to communicating project outcomes effectively, supporting evidence-based decision making, and contributing to the growth and sustainability of the national VET workforce
Key Responsibilities
Report development for the VET Workforce Project
Produce high-quality reports for Government and Transport Supply Chain Industry Stakeholders.
Proofreading and editing materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand reporting requirements.
Ensuring that all final products are within the ISA Style Guide requirements.
Performance reporting, review and continuous improvement
Maintains project related documentation consistent with the project management framework and document control conventions.
Ensure tasks are completed on times and within the scope of ISA’s VET Workforce Project.
Report on progress in line with project reporting requirements and timelines.

Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Other related duties as directed by line manager or ISA executives.
About You
Essential attributes
Collecting, collating, and interpreting complex data from various sources.
Exemplary writing skills paired with a strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prepare plain English content suitable for a range of audiences.
Ensuring accurate and timely completion of reports.
Creating diagrams, charts, and graphs to better display data and support findings.
Updating and revising reports based on feedback and analysis.
Maintaining a record of original data and any changes made.
Communicating with team members and clients to understand and meet reporting requirements.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build strong, open, collaborative team relationships.
Desirable attributes
Tertiary qualification in any of the following disciplines - public relations, communications, creative writing or journalism.
General understanding of the education and training system, with a willingness to deepen knowledge as needed.
