Kealba Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to take the reins of our kitchen and lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional food experiences. As a well-established venue, we pride ourselves on offering high-quality, pub-style meals with a modern twist — and we're now on the hunt for a hands-on leader who can elevate our food offering even further.

What You'll Be Doing:

Overseeing all kitchen operations including rostering, ordering, stock control, food safety and cleanliness

Leading, training and motivating kitchen staff to maintain consistency and quality

Designing and updating seasonal menus in collaboration with venue management

Managing food costs and ensuring costs of goods are aligned with budget targets

Ensuring compliance with OH&S guidelines and regulations

About You:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef is required

Experience specifically in pub/bistro environment is essential

Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and inspire your team

Sound understanding of food cost management, supplier relations and kitchen operations

Creative flair for menu development and passion for fresh, seasonal produce

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Australian work rights are required for this position

Formal culinary qualifications are required
