This highly regarded Early Learning Centre, part of a broader independent school community, is seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join their dynamic team.

The ELC in Melbourne's inner Eastern suburbs offers a purpose-built environment for under 3-year-olds, with exceptional resources and spaces designed to inspire exploration and learning.

The service operates in line with Reggio Emilia principles, embedding a deep respect for children’s agency, independence, and capabilities. Educators are well supported with a strong leadership team, including an experienced Educational Leader and Director, who are focused on developing leadership skills and fostering best practice across the Centre.

The Opportunity
This is an exciting role for a thoughtful and skilled educator ready to lead the infant room (3 months–1 year). This age group requires a Room Leader with strong pedagogy, a deep understanding of early developmental stages, and a commitment to providing high-quality, responsive care and education.
As Room Leader, you will:

• Lead and inspire your team to deliver best practice in line with Reggio Emilia principles.
• Foster a culture of curiosity and critical reflection within your room.
• Support children’s agency and independence during this crucial developmental period.
• Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader and broader leadership team.

The Ideal Educator

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-assessed equivalent) – Graduate Diploma highly regarded
• Strong understanding of child development and Reggio Emilia-inspired pedagogy
• Prior experience as a Room Leader, preferably in an infant room
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis (HLTAID012) and Working with Children Check
