Join Banyule City Council as a Cleansing Supervisor!

Are you passionate about leading teams and making a positive impact in your community? Banyule City Council is seeking a dedicated Cleansing Supervisor to oversee and support our in-house waste services team. In this vital role, you'll ensure the effective, timely, and safe delivery of all cleansing operations, maintaining the highest standards in line with Council requirements and industry best practice.

About the Role and what You'll Be Doing

If you're ready to lead a committed team and deliver valued services to the Banyule community, we'd love to hear from you. Based at Council's Operations Depot, in this role you'll:

  • Supervise and support cleansing staff and contractors to achieve outstanding service standards.
  • Guide and assist the team in daily operations, administration, and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with OH&S legislation and Council policies.
  • Maintain plant and equipment in top condition, ensuring safety and operational readiness.
  • Play an active role in recruitment, training, and development of team members.
  • Investigate and resolve issues raised by staff or the public, and respond promptly to customer requests.
  • Oversee accurate recording and reporting, assist with purchasing, and allocate tasks and equipment efficiently.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold Council's values of respect, integrity, responsibility, initiative, and inclusion.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead an operational workforce engaged in the on-ground delivery of waste services
  • Exceptional personal communication skills and ability to provide leadership for staff and contractors
  • Ability to operate computer software to a competent level
  • At least 12 months experience in a similar or related role
  • Knowledge of Waste Management collection practices is desirable

  • Driver's Licence
  • Functional Capacity Assessment
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

  • Salary in the range $80,897.37 to $93,686.65 per annum plus super.
