This is a permanent opportunity with an immediate commencement!

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Environmental Manager – Noise to lead a specialist team delivering critical regulatory and scientific services in environmental noise. This senior-level role combines deep technical expertise with high-level leadership, overseeing the administration of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 and providing authoritative advice on complex environmental noise issues. You will play a pivotal role in shaping policy, guiding regulatory decisions, and supporting major reforms across jurisdictions, while mentoring a team of professionals and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive best-practice outcomes.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior environmental professional with a strong background in acoustics, environmental science, or engineering to step into a role that blends scientific rigour with strategic influence. Your expertise will directly inform environmental policy and regulatory frameworks, contributing to meaningful, long-term outcomes across the state. If you’re ready to lead a high-performing team where your expertise will shape environmental outcomes at a state-wide level—this is the challenge you’ve been waiting for.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will be a confident and capable leader with a strong foundation in environmental science, acoustics, or engineering, and a deep understanding of environmental noise regulation. They will bring a strategic mindset, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate complex technical and legislative challenges. With a collaborative approach and excellent communication skills, they will be adept at providing high-level advice, managing stakeholder relationships, and guiding a team of specialists to deliver impactful, science-based regulatory outcomes.
