About the business and the role

We are a small/medium sized practice located in Port Adelaide.

We are seeking a client focused intermediate/senior accountant with a friendly personality who will be an excellent fit to our close knit team. You will have at least 2-3 years' experience working in an accounting practice.

This position involves attending to the taxation and accounting requirements for various client structures, ranging from individuals (Employees and Sole Traders), to small to medium businesses (Partnerships, Trusts and Companies).

The ideal candidate will be loyal and eager to contribute to the growth and success of the practice.

This position offers the unique opportunity to a clear pathway to partnership or ownership within a few short years.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Interview and meet with clients

Prepare BAS and bookkeeping for businesses.

Provide tax and business advice

Interact with the director on key issues and complex matters.

Undertake and participate in staff training and present to other team members.

Liaise with the ATO and other government departments

Skills and experience

Ability to work in a fast paced environment in the presence of clients throughout July to October while ensuring accurate data entry.

A broad and solid knowledge of taxation issues (including GST) is a key component to the role.

Australian citizenship is required for this position.

Confidence in dealing with clients face to face to help with their taxation and business issues.

You must be fluent in English, as communication is imperative to meaningful client interaction.

Highly efficient coordination ability to multi-task and be task orientated.

Experience with MYOB Accountant's Enterprise, XERO and Microsoft Office will be an advantage.
