Accounts Payable (AP) Officer – Sydney (Permanent Part-Time, 24 hours per week)

THE COMPANY

THE ROLE

Working for a lovely family run business located in Blakehurst and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the entire Accounts Payable Function. The role is broad and challenging, managing multiple cost centres including Head Office, various Australian States, and New Zealand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately process and code supplier invoices, ensuring correct GST treatment and compliance with accounting standards across multiple states and New Zealand.

Guarantee the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the financial data for all business users.

Reconciling supplier statements and managing large payment runs in both domestic and FX currency.

Maintain financial records, reconciliations and filing systems.

Identify opportunities for process & workflow improvements within the finance team.

Assist with month-end reports, stock takes, journal adjustments and data quality checks in the ERP system.

Be able to work autonomously and manage workload to meet deadlines while ensuring high standards are maintained and accounting policies and principles adhered to.

Must possess good communication skills and attention to detail.

Be able to present numerical data in a concise and informative manner.

Calm, easy going demeanour with a can-do attitude and sense of humour to ensure a great cultural fit.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

The right to work in Australia.

TAFE Diploma or similar in a finance related field would be advantageous.

Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics highly desirable.

Proficiency with various financial software, specifically more complex ERP systems (not MYOB & Xero).

Demonstrated longevity and experience in a similar role.

Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
