Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide a comprehensive project supervision, installation, repair and maintenance service to a wide variety of electronic equipment operated by Department of Transport & Main Roads and external clients.
• Provide advice on complex technical matters relating to marine electronics, communications, vessel traffic services and hydrographic equipment to departmental and external clients.
• Develop specifications to facilitate the purchase of marine electronic, communications, vessel traffic services and hydrographic equipment and ensure Queensland Transports purchasing policies are adhered to during any subsequent quotation and tendering process.
• Formulate and implement research and development, equipment installation and maintenance programs. Prepare reports and submissions of a complex technical nature, participate in incident response situations and ensure staff comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain administrative systems at a high standard to ensure accurate records of the Marine Technical Services Unit's activities, equipment history records and quality assurance systems comply with predetermined standards.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Diploma/Degree, electronics, IT or communications or equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution.
• Valid Class C drivers license.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
