Position: Principal Power Systems Engineer
Location: Brisbane
Salary: $180–$200k +

Projects: Energy Infrastructure & Defence Infrastructure (33kV, 66kV, & 132kV, including Substations, Solar Plants & BESS).

We’re seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer in Perth to join the national HV Design & Power Systems team and take on the role of technical lead for major national projects, some valued at up to $100 million.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide HV systems modelling, grid connection studies, protection studies, earthing designs, and technical advice/designs for private HV networks, solar farms, and battery energy storage systems.
• Produce technical documentation, specifications, and datasheets for electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection & control systems).
• Manage relationships with AEMO, DNSPs, and TNSPs.

What you’ll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., BSc Engineering).
• CPEng or eligibility to obtain.
• 10+ years’ experience in HV design.
• Proven capability with power system modelling tools such as ETAP, PowerFactory, or PSCAD.
• Experience in earthing design and simulation software (e.g., CDEGS).
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards.
