Westpeak Support Services are currently hiring multiple positions.
Role 1: Westpeak Support Services are currently hiring highly trained and experienced Disability Support Workers with a background and understanding in Child Development, Behaviours of Concern and Trauma-Informed Care.
We have multiple positions available to provide 24/7 care to a male child who requires significant support. This child requires suitable support staff to provide his personal care, community access and overnight assistance, within a house built by DFFH to a robust standard.
Given the nature of this role, only experienced candidates in both Disability and Child Welfare will be contacted.
Requirements:
Qualifications in Disability, or a related field, with substantial experience providing direct care to children and young people who have a Disability and/or Behaviours of Concern.
Have a Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screeners Check.
Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
Strong Interpersonal Skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
Qualifications and/or significant experience in Child Welfare, Disability and an understanding of Trauma Informed Care.
Experience working in a Supported Independent Living Environment.
Previous experience working within a Youth Residential Care environment.
Role 2:
At Westpeak, we provide 1:1 support to NDIS participants. We are currently looking for supports in Doveton and Cranbourne areas. Our preference is you have experience with Huntington Disease
Our ideal candidate will have:
Professional or lived experience supporting someone with a disability
An understanding of the disability sector and person-centred support
Excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach
Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to Westpeak
The role may involve:
Assistance with community access and recreational activities
Personal care (showering, toileting, and hygiene assistance)
Manual handling and the use of wheelchairs & hoists
Transportation and social engagement
Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Requirements:
Qualifications in Disability, or a related field, with substantial experience providing direct care to people who have a Disability and require personal care.
Preferably training in PEG and experience engaging with the PEG process.
Have a Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screeners Check.
Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
Strong Interpersonal Skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
