Key Requirements:

Minimum of 12 months’ experience as a Disability Support Worker in Australia

Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent qualification

Proven experience with wheelchair loading, securing, and unloading procedures

Comfortable supporting clients during transportation (driving and/or assisting with transfers)

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Current Medication Administration Certificate with minimum 6 months’ relevant experience

Manual Handling Certificate with evidence of 6 months’ experience

Fully vaccinated (COVID including booster + flu)

Working With Children Check

Current driver’s licence and reliable, roadworthy vehicle (comprehensive insurance preferred)

Availability for morning, afternoon, and short transportation shifts

Desirable:

Ability to take on a minimum of 3 shifts per week

Flexibility to accept short (3-hour) shifts when required

About the Role:

In this role, you will primarily support clients with safe and reliable transport to and from appointments, community activities, and social outings. You’ll ensure all transfers and mobility supports are managed professionally and with care, providing a positive and empowering experience for each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely assist clients during vehicle transfers, including wheelchair loading and securing

Drive or accompany clients to community activities, appointments, and social outings

Support with personal care and mobility needs before and after transport as required

Maintain accurate shift documentation and incident reporting

Communicate effectively with coordinators, care teams, and families
