Description*
Brodie's Magic is a family-governed, service-for-one organisation supporting Brodie—a vibrant young man who loves music, swimming, cycling, technology, and the outdoors.
This role is designed for students in nursing, allied health, medical, or disability support (Cert III/IV) who want meaningful, paid experience that complements their studies. You'll work directly with Brodie's family, other health students and allied health professionals, building practical skills in observation, communication, and person-centred care while making a real difference.
We also welcome applications from experienced Disability Support Workers. Pay will be based on your skills, experience, and the relevant SCHADS Award classification.
Shifts:
Monday–Friday: 6:55am–8:55am and 3:30pm–8:00pm
Weekends: 7:00am–8:00pm (rarely until 11pm)
Occasional day work may be offered in your first month if you're available
Occasional sleepovers are required
Minimum availability of 2-3 shifts per week is required
Key Duties:
Support Brodie with daily routines, personal care, and community activities
Assist him to use communication tools (AAC) and other assistive technology
Follow safe manual handling and mobility practices (with guidance from therapists)
Work alongside allied health professionals to implement support plans
Keep accurate shift notes and records in Podio
