Seeking a confident and detail-driven payroll professional looking for a flexible, fully remote opportunity? Aussie Payroll, is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist with a passion for systems, efficiency and delivering outcomes that matter.
You’ll work on complex client projects, implementing cutting-edge payroll tech in a delivery environment that values flexibility, accountability, and real-world results.
We’re a specialist outsourced payroll provider supporting Australian businesses using Employment Hero (KeyPay).
About the Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll take ownership of your own client portfolio and deliver accurate, end-to-end payroll services using Employment Hero (KeyPay). From onboarding to STP submissions, Award interpretation to client queries — you’ll be supported by an experienced team and trusted to work autonomously.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a remote work environment, knows the ins and outs of KeyPay, and values getting payroll right — every time.
What You’ll Do
End-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients in Employment Hero (KeyPay)
Maintain employee records: onboarding, terminations, and variations
Apply Modern Awards and EBAs correctly and confidently
Process superannuation, PAYG, leave, and other statutory entitlements
Submit STP reports and reconcile payroll each cycle
Handle client and employee payroll queries professionally and efficiently
Stay up to date with legislative and system updates
Collaborate with your team and escalate complex issues when needed
What You’ll Bring
3+ years’ experience in Australian payroll implementation, payroll processing or a similar technical role
Strong working knowledge of Employment Hero (KeyPay)
A sound understanding of Modern Awards and payroll compliance
Great attention to detail and confidence working with data
Excellent and professional communication skills- you know how to engage clients and manage expectations
A proactive mindset: you love solving problems and getting things right the first time
Requirements
Current Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) registration as a Tax Agent.
Proven experience in payroll outsourcing
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll and compliance.
Excellent analytical, communication, and client service skills.
Candidates must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
