About the Role

The Business Development and Partnerships Officer plays a vital role in driving the organisation’s growth by developing strong partnerships, expanding referral networks, and identifying new business opportunities within the NDIS and disability support sector.

This position focuses on building meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, enhancing the organisation’s community presence, and supporting participant acquisition in alignment with the organisation’s mission and NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and service expansion possibilities within the NDIS framework.

Develop and implement strategic initiatives to increase participant referrals and organisational reach.

Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities.

Prepare proposals, partnership agreements, and business cases for new initiatives.

Support internal teams with data and insights to align service delivery with market needs.

2. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with support coordinators, allied health providers, plan managers, lacs, and community organisations.

Represent the organisation at networking events, expos, and industry meetings to promote services and build brand awareness.

Facilitate collaborative partnerships that enhance participant outcomes and community inclusion.

Act as a liaison between the organisation and external partners to ensure effective communication and service alignment.

3. Marketing & Promotion

Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and community engagement strategies.

Support the creation of promotional materials, social media content, and success stories that highlight the organisation’s values and services.

Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms.

4. Participant Acquisition

Identify and develop new participant leads through community networks, allied health providers, support coordinators, and local engagement.

Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, lacs, and other NDIS stakeholders.

Conduct participant intakes, gather relevant documentation, and support onboarding in alignment with organisational processes.

Prepare service agreements and ensure participants understand their supports and funding categories.

5. Participant Development

Work collaboratively with support coordinators, house leaders, and management to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care for new participants.

Monitor participant satisfaction and feedback to support quality improvement.

Assist in developing individualised plans and ensuring participants receive supports aligned with their goals.

Support the team in promoting participant engagement and inclusion in community activities.

6. Reporting & Compliance

Maintain accurate records of partnership activities, leads, and outcomes using CRM systems.

Provide regular reports on referral sources, conversion rates, and partnership performance.

Ensure all activities comply with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and organisational policies.

Key Skills and Attributes

Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and disability service environment.

Proven experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, or partnership management.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and collaboration.

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organisational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Community Services, or a related field.

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in business development, partnerships, or stakeholder management (preferably within NDIS, community, or health sectors).

Current Driver’s Licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Police Check
