We're on the lookout for a passionate, creative, and action-oriented Youth Development Officers to join the Young Communities team at Moonee Valley City Council.

The Role:
As a full-time Youth Development Officer, you'll work directly with young people aged 12-25 to:
- Design and deliver youth-led programs, events and campaigns that reflect what young people really want and need.
- Create space for young voices to be heard in decisions that impact them both locally and beyond.
- Provide short-term one-on-one support, guidance and referrals to help young people navigate life's challenges.
- Use creative marketing and social media to boost visibility of Valley Youth programs.
- Collaborate with passionate teams across Council to drive meaningful change and achieve the best outcomes for young people.
What you'll bring:
We're after someone who's not just experienced, but genuinely passionate about youth work. You'll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work or a related discipline - or equivalent experience in a youth-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development, community engagement, and youth participation frameworks.
- Proven ability to plan, run and evaluate youth events and programs that are inclusive, impactful and fun.
- Confidence working with diverse young people, including those from CALD, LGBTIQA+, and diverse communities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills - with a flair for turning ideas into action.
