DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The People & Culture Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the People & Culture team and collaborating with Department Heads to develop and implement effective people strategies. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, data management, compliance, performance review coordination, and supporting People & Culture and Learning & Development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and passionate about creating a positive employee experience.
This is a Part Time opportunity working between 22 - 26 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including briefing with hiring managers, drafting job ads, and posting across relevant platforms.
Screen and interview candidates to assess alignment with role requirements and company values.
Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences to set new associates up for success.
Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to leaders on strengths and areas for improvement.
People & Culture Support
Coach and advise leaders on recruitment, compliance, and learning & development to enhance organisational effectiveness.
Assist with performance reviews, succession planning, and strategic People & Culture initiatives.
Support the review and updating of SOPs, policies, and procedures in line with legislative changes.
Undertake administrative duties across recruitment, selection, training, and general HR functions.
Ensure data integrity across all HR systems.
Learning & Development
Collaborate with the L&D team to research, promote, and implement programs that support professional and personal growth.
Deliver and track internal and external training programs ensuring completion, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Safety
Stay informed of legislative, award, and regulatory changes impacting the industry and take appropriate action.
Promote and demonstrate safe work practices, including manual handling and emergency procedures.
Participate in WHS Committee activities when required.
General & Ad Hoc Duties
Respond to reasonable requests from EXCOM and other departments.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Director of People & Culture.
Support any business-critical initiatives as needed.
Education, Skills & Work Rights
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Business, or a related field in Talent Acquisition is desirable.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred; exposure to hotel operations is a bonus but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences and situations - always with professionalism.
A genuine passion for people and a drive to positively influence the experience of our associates, which in turn enhances our guests’ experience.
Tech-savvy and confident working across various systems, including the Microsoft 365 suite.
