The Role
An internal promotion has created an opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team.
This role plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, consolidation, and forecasting for a business with a strong operational presence across Australia. It involves close collaboration with finance leadership and contributes to decision-making at the group level.
- Lead the preparation and submission of monthly consolidated financial results and balance sheet.
- Support group-level financial reporting and communication, including:
- Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs.
- Managing group consolidation adjustments (e.g., fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets).
- Preparing financial presentation materials for Monthly Business Review meetings.
- Assisting with quarterly Board reporting and other ad hoc requirements.
- Maintain and update long-term financial forecasts (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) on a monthly basis.
- Prepare budgeted cash flow and balance sheet projections to support strategic planning.
- Prepare and submit business cases for capex, including financial modelling and feasibility analysis.
- Maintain oversight of approval schedules and financial governance processes.
- Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes.
- Coordinate quarterly compliance reporting and ensure alignment with finance policies and levels of authority.
- Undertake other responsibilities and projects as required.
Your Profile
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification (essential).
- Strong technical accounting background with financial reporting experience.
- Proven experience working with external auditors - first movers from audit are encouraged to apply.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proactive and solutions-focused with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- High level of Excel proficiency, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and model-building.
