Diabetes Educator
Full-time, 38 hours a week
About the Role
The Diabetes Educator provides culturally safe, person-centred diabetes education and self-management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the educator delivers clinical care, education, and advocacy to support improved diabetes outcomes and reduce the burden of disease.
About You
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
Division 1 Registered Nurse with current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in Victoria.
ADEA Credentialed Diabetes Educator.
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and a strong understanding of the cultural, social, and historical determinants of health.
Ability to deliver diabetes education in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with clients, families, and community leaders.
Commitment to working within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to culturally safe and inclusive practice.
What We Offer:
Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
Competitive pay and conditions based on the Nurses Award – Registered Nurse – level 3 (based on qualifications and experience).
