About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Finance, you’ll play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting audits and reconciliations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a passion for community impact.

Assistant Accountant

Remote (QLD-based)

Full-time | Fixed-Term 12-month Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily bank reconciliations and cashflow management
• General ledger maintenance and journal entries
• Balance sheet and revenue recognition reconciliations
• Support month-end reporting and audits
• Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax Return preparation
• Provide coverage for Accounts Payable/Receivable during peak periods
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or currently studying)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills

Practical Requirements

• QLD C Class Driver’s Licence
• Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Satisfactory Police Check
• Flexibility to travel and stay overnight in remote areas
• Willingness to travel by road and small aircraft
