We are seeking an experienced and motivated Excavator Operator / Driver to join our construction division and contribute to the successful delivery of our expanding portfolio of commercial and residential projects.

Scope of Role

The Excavator Operator / Driver plays a critical role in supporting Galaxy City’s new build projects by performing safe and efficient excavation, trenching, and earthmoving activities. This role requires technical skill, professionalism, and a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards, as well as flexibility to work across metro, regional, and occasional interstate sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform bulk and detailed earthworks, trenching, grading, and site preparation for commercial and residential new builds.

Carry out excavation tasks in accordance with engineering drawings, levels, and site specifications.

Safely load, transport, and unload materials, equipment, and machinery.

Conduct daily pre-start checks, maintenance inspections, and report mechanical or safety issues immediately.

Maintain machinery in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.

Collaborate closely with supervisors, engineers, and trades to achieve accuracy and efficiency on site.

Adhere to all company, environmental, and WHS procedures at all times.

Be willing to work overtime and weekends to meet project deadlines.

Travel to regional and interstate sites when required.

Requirements

Formal qualification in Plant Operations, Civil Construction, or equivalent (e.g. RIIMPO320F or Certificate III in Civil Construction).

Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators on commercial or residential construction projects.

Current White Card (Construction Induction).

Truck licence (MR or HR class) preferred.

Mut have a personal vehicle for travel to and between worksites.

Strong knowledge of safe work practices and WHS compliance.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and within a team.

High attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude.
