We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager (AO6/1 level) to join a government department in Cairns. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and deliver building projects that make a real impact in the community.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will provide leadership and expertise across the full lifecycle of building projects, from concept to completion. You'll coordinate internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure successful delivery aligned with scope, budget and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage building projects including design, documentation, and contract administration.
• Coordinate project teams, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Provide expert contract coordination across traditional and non-traditional systems.
• Interface with clients and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor project performance, generate reports, and conduct audits.
• Support fee determination and billing approvals in collaboration with senior leadership.

Skills & Experience

• Proven client-side project management experience within building construction or infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional coordination and leadership capabilities.

Highly Regarded

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying.
