RSP is responsible for the development, review and monitoring of regional plans that facilitate outcomes focused on addressing existing and emerging land use planning issues of regional significance.
As a member of the team you will:
• Research, develop and publish easy to understand statistics and insights on growth, land supply, housing, development potential and trends, and related topics for Queensland in a variety of formats (i.e. reports, tables, graphs and maps).
• Prepare and review detailed research and technical reports, as well as support strategic advice about implications of regional planning policies identified to respond to supply and demand issues
• Assist in maintaining the GMU's core datasets on land, housing, demographic, employment, infrastructure, and related data.
• Work with the team to implement data governance practices to ensure data is secure, accurate, available, and fit for purpose.
• Experience in the use and application of GIS, advanced data analysis and visualization and Extract Transform Load (ETL) technologies is advantageous. The Department uses Esri ArcGIS, Microsoft Power BI and Safe Software's FME for ETL data processing.
• Create and maintain effective working relationships with key project stakeholders and data custodians, including but not limited to other state agencies, local governments, infrastructure agencies, industry peak bodies, technical experts and developers.
• Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional and spatial planning project outcomes are achieved.
• Represent the department in an effective and professional manner.
