About this opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Communications and Philanthropy Officer and working within a team of 13, the Community Fundraising and Events Manager will:
lead the community fundraising and events strategy, driving engagement, awareness and revenue
build and manage community fundraising programs, establishing strong relationships and identifying new funding opportunities
oversee a calendar of events, working with a highly-capable events coordinator
lead volunteer engagement and a new community ambassador program
plan and create marketing materials to support and promote events and fundraising
identify and cultivate relationships with community groups, individuals, and organisations
accurately report on community fundraising, engagement and events; tracking budgets and impact metrics
ensure a meaningful and inclusive supporter experience.
Making the most of the opportunity to shape a relatively new portfolio, you’ll build an impactful community fundraising strategy and establish key relationships to support the organisation’s ongoing growth goals.
This role has 2 direct reports — events and community engagement.
About you
You have a strong sense of initiative, and you’re ready to make this role your own, exercising a high degree of accountability and self-motivation.
You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator, and you’re confident engaging with diverse individuals and perspectives to establish meaningful relationships.
You’re both a leader and a doer. You’re excited by the opportunity to lead by example and be part of the team.
You’re a fantastic problem solver, always looking for ways to reshape, redirect and guide operations in a powerful new direction.
You bring a background in community fundraising or another area of relational fundraising, and you know what it takes to build robust fundraising programs.
You hold a current Queensland driver’s license, and you’re willing to travel on occasion.
