Workshop Hands – Pulley Packaging & Dispatch (Day and Afternoon Shift)

This Australian manufacturer produces conveyor pulleys and related components for the mining and bulk materials sector. The business has been steadily improving its operations through Lean manufacturing and equipment upgrades, with a strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork. Once pulleys have been machined, balanced and passed QA, they’re wrapped, packed and prepared for delivery to clients across Australia.

About the role
We’re looking for 2–3 reliable workshop hands to join the pulley dispatch team — two on day shift and one on afternoon shift.
On paper it sounds like straightforward packing work, but there’s more to it than bubble wrap. These pulleys range from a few hundred kilos through to more than 15 tonnes, and each one needs to be prepped and packaged correctly before transport. The role mixes hands-on labouring with semi-skilled work and suits someone who’s practical, willing to learn and comfortable around heavy equipment.

Key tasks

Wrapping, painting, peeling and heat-shrinking pulleys ready for dispatch

Using rattle guns, spanners and other hand tools

Assisting with preparing pallets and preparing freight for transport

Working safely around cranes and heavy equipment

Maintaining a tidy work area and supporting general workshop activities

What we’re looking for

Reliable, enthusiastic and physically capable

Keen to learn and take direction from experienced trades

Comfortable using basic tools and working in a heavy industrial setting

Safety-focused with good attention to detail

Experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment an advantage but not essential

The offer

Pay rate: $38.34/hr to $41.33/hr + penalties (depending on experience)

Hours: Average 45 per week, rising to around 50 in peak periods

Shifts: 2 x Day shift roles, 1 x Afternoon shift

Employment type: Ongoing temp-to-perm opportunity

Location: Bayswater workshop with free on-site parking
