About the role
We are looking for a motivated and detailed oriented Finance Officer to support the smooth operation of financial systems and processes across Choice Aged Care. You’ll play a key role in enhancing our internal systems, supporting our national team of pharmacists, and improving care services through strong financial coordination.
This role requires excellent communication skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to collaborate with remote cross-functional teams. Your work will contribute directly to the safe and effective delivery of medication management and aged care services. You will be based in our Brisbane office with options to work out of our Brisbane or Maroochydore offices as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll:
Manage a robust payroll process that ensures timely and accurate payment to staff
Liaise with Managers and Staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of timesheets, expense reimbursement and leave request.
Accounting:
Bank Reconciliations
Maintain Fixed Assets register
Inter-company account reconciliations
Accounts Payable:
Process all accounts payable invoice across multiple entities ensuring accurate identification of the entity and code.
Support regular payable process that ensures timely payment of accounts.
Accounts Receivable:
Prepare sales invoices for services across multiple entities
Assist in making Claims for Pharmacy programs
Prepare RCTI for pharmacy programs in finance system
Monitor debts and manage collections process
Statutory:
Assist in preparing BAS and IAS
Reporting:
Support the preparation of Monthly reporting when necessary
Support the FC and external accountants in preparing Year End reporting and tax compliance
Your Skills & Experience
Education:
Accounting Degree and/or post graduate qualifications (not mandatory, will consider qualified by experience).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate accounting roles OR
Making your first move out of practice.
Skills:
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and relevant database management systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with ability to rapidly understand and convey information.
Highly skilled at organising and balancing competing priorities.
Service-oriented with a focus on detail, proactive mitigation of issues, and consistent follow-through on commitments.
Essential requirements:
Proof of Working rights within Australia.
Police Clearance with no disclosable outcomes.
Statutory Declaration.
Current valid C class driver’s license.
