ABOUT WINE YARRA VALLEY
Wine Yarra Valley is a non-profit member-based organisation that represents around 70 wineries and producers in this premium wine district one hour from Melbourne. As the peak industry body for Yarra Valley wine the organisation provides technical, marketing and advocacy support to wineries, growers and producers.
THE ROLE
Work with the General Manager and Administration & Finance Officer to ensure marketing, events and activities are delivered effectively and in a timely manner. Develop, manage, and report on events, social media and digital marketing campaigns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Website
Regularly update the website to keep it dynamic and engaging
Coordinate event and news content from producers for posting on the website
Develop, manage, and report on search engine optimisation / search engine marketing strategies
Oversee paid advertising efforts.
Consumer newsletter
Develop and manage content and distribution plan of electronic direct mail (EDM)
Ensure integration with website and social media
Actively source content from producers in line with content plan
Write content including feature articles where required
Social media
Regularly update the content management plan
Actively source content from producers
Increase following and engagement across all platforms in line with set objectives
Create strategic social media and digital media campaigns to increase and engage followers
Media and Trade communication
Increase profile of members and support them in increasing visitation to cellar door through effective marketing and social meeting
Assist in the planning and implementation of regional communications activities such as press releases
Coordinate media lists and report on media coverage
Work with key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to marketing.
EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS
Specific activities include but not limited to:
Manage the Region's events in conjunction with the General Manager and associated sub committees
Guide the Committees in the development of marketing material and communication plans for all events
Book venues and contractors as required
Participate at events including the set-up and pack-down
Assist in the development and management of event budgets
Assist with the development and implementation of new regional events in line with the Marketing Plan
Assist with the coordination and execution of visitor groups into the region
Assist with the development of itineraries.
GENERAL
Provide secretariat support for Marketing Sub-Committee
Attend monthly Marketing Sub-Committee meetings

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The following qualifications and skills will be highly desirable:
Qualifications or demonstrated experience in marketing and event management or similar
A minimum of 1-2 years of marketing experience is required for this role
Wine knowledge/interest
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in digital marketing
Skilled in the Social Media platforms - Instagram, Facebook (& Meta Business Suite), LinkedIn
Familiarity with WordPress, Squarespace, Canva, CRM, eDMs
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability and desire to work within a small team and strive for common goals
Ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
High attention to detail along with strong planning and organisational skills
Ability to develop and manage event budgets
