Robert Walters is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to join our team.
This is a permanent position working 3 days per week, with 2 of these days based in our office. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of payroll across both New Zealand and Australia.
About the Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes. You'll ensure compliance with regional legislation, maintain accurate records, and provide exceptional support to employees regarding payroll queries. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team while enjoying the flexibility of part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
-Process monthly end-to-end payroll across New Zealand and Australia
-Ensure compliance with ANZ employment laws, tax regulations, and company policies
-Maintain up-to-date employee records, including deductions, and benefits
-Respond promptly to employee leave and payroll queries and provide clear explanations when needed
-Conduct weekly leave audits by cross-referencing data between reporting systems to identify and resolve discrepancies in leave submissions
-Prepare and reconcile payroll end-of-pay reports for the Finance Team
-Perform payroll end-of-financial year function, carry out ad hoc reporting requests and assist with audits as required
-Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data
About You
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong eye for detail. You'll have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. A passion for delivering high-quality work and providing outstanding service to employees is essential.
Key Requirements
-Minimum 2 years of proven experience in payroll administration, ideally within New Zealand
-Strong knowledge of ANZ payroll legislation, tax requirements, and compliance standards
-Proficiency in payroll systems, experience with Micropay and ESS is advantageous.
-Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
-Intermediate Excel skills
-Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
-Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
