Your new role:

As part of the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit (GARU), you'll provide social work services supporting patients' recovery, independence, and wellbeing through assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.

  • Managing an allocated caseload within an interprofessional team, using evidence-based practice and ethical standards.
  • Providing education, supervision and guidance to students and support staff under the direction of senior clinicians.
  • Contributing to quality improvement and research activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with patients, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic, compassionate care.

About you:

You are a motivated social worker with strong clinical and interpersonal skills, passionate about rehabilitation and aged care, and committed to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning.

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, patient-centred social work assessment, intervention and management.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute effectively within an interprofessional team.
  • A commitment to developing your clinical knowledge and participating in professional development and supervision.
  • Capacity to assist with education, service improvement and research initiatives within the department.
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain prior to appointment.
