Job tasks and responsibilities
About the role
As a Functional Recovery Manager, you will:
Manage a defined caseload with autonomy, applying professional judgement in complex and changing circumstances.
Provide trauma- and poverty-informed, wrap-around support to young people and families in homes, schools, parks, and other community settings.
Work alongside a Clinical Worker in a unique two-worker model to coordinate care, link supports, and build pathways back to community participation.
Hold purposeful boundaries while maintaining unconditional positive regard, balancing relational authenticity with professional discipline.
Advocate for inclusive, culturally safe engagement and create conditions where young people feel seen, supported, and valued.
Contribute to program learning and improvement by reflecting on practice and sharing insights with peers.
Commit to a five-day working week (38 hr) with the flexibility required to meet young people in community, including some work outside standard hours.
This position is to deliver an outreach based, clinical mental health program for young people aged 12 - 25 years. The position will work closely with a number of Clinical Worker roles. The program design prioritises youth engagement and relationship building as the means of achieving outcomes. As such, a flexible approach to service delivery will be expected. Workers will be expected to undertake home visits and/or sessions in other places in the community such as schools, cafes or parks. While the program is clinical in nature, it will have a strong focus on social inclusion/community participation outcomes to maintain recovery and prevent relapse. Ensuring high levels of wrap around support will drive this role. This will include working with families and carers and liaising closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders. Family and Youth workers will be expected to coordinate and lead care coordination/case conferencing meetings.
