An opportunity exists for an experienced HR Manager to join a fast-paced demolition and construction services business. This role requires a confident operator who understands the realities of HR within a service-based, site-driven environment managing a large, diverse workforce, balancing compliance, and resolving people issues quickly and effectively.

About the Role

• Oversee all HR functions across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, and retention.
• Partner closely with site managers, project supervisors, and senior leadership to ensure consistent HR practices across all sites.
• Manage high-volume recruitment and workforce planning in line with project demands.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary matters, grievances, and conflict resolution while maintaining compliance with Fair Work and relevant awards.
• Maintain and improve HR systems, policies, and processes.
• Lead engagement initiatives that promote a safe, supportive, and accountable workplace culture.
• Ensure employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Work with payroll and WHS teams to ensure seamless coordination between HR, safety, and operations.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an HR Manager (or senior HR role) within construction, demolition, civil, or trades-based industries.
• Proven ability to manage a large workforce with a mix of site, workshop, and office-based employees.
• Confident in managing complex employee relations and compliance matters.
• Hands-on leadership style, proactive, approachable, and able to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, employment contracts, and industrial relations.
• Experience with Employment Hero (highly regarded).
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
