A leading Christian-based organisation is seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant for a 3-6 month temp to perm opportunity.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Enter all fixed assets, software and other intangible asset movements into the fixed asset register accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure asset costs and carrying values are treated in accordance with company policy and accounting standards and are supported by up to date documentation
Ensure all Makegood assets are treated in accordance with the Lease obligations, company policy and Accounting Standards
Assign fixed assets to correct categories in the Fixed Asset register in order to report on key categories and conduct targeted validation of Key Assets.
Maintain controls, procedures, and forms for the recording, onboarding and reporting of assets.
Monitor and record Low Value Pool assets in accordance with update company policy and taxation legislation
Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
Reconcile fixed asset movements from the accounting system (WIP and Project ledgers) and ensure all amounts are cleared into the Fixed Asset register in a timely manner.
Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
Calculate depreciation and amortisation for all fixed assets in the Fixed Asset Register and post the monthly and annual journal entries into the GL.
Prepare high quality audit working papers to support asset movements, asset carrying values per the balance sheet and asset valuations as necessary, and proactively engage with auditors and the audit process
Provide insightful management reporting of asset movements and CAPEX versus budget
Provide Quarterly CAPEX rolling forecast, engaging with managers across the business to determine committed CAPEX and explain any variances to Budget.
Contribute to annual Business Planning and Budgeting with comprehensive, insightful reporting and analysis of Assets and CAPEX.
Proactively recommend system improvements and contribute to system upgrades of the Fixed Asset Register and GL interface
Investigate the potential obsolescence or impairment of assets.
Working with practice partners and General Managers, conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets and recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.
Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis of assets as requested by management.
Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
Key Criteria
You will be:
A degree-qualified Accountant who has ideally completed or is near completion of your CA/CPA
A fixed asset specialist with strong technical accounting skills
Seeking a role which will allow you to take ownership
Proactive and forward thinking and looking at implementing efficiencies in processes
