ABORIGINAL IDENTIFIED ASSET OFFICER POSITION

Help us provide safe, secure, and well-maintained homes for Aboriginal people in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of Aboriginal families through quality housing? We want to hear from you!

About Us

The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation (IAC) has been serving our community since 1980. Our Housing and Homelessness Program supports Aboriginal people by providing affordable, culturally connected housing, reducing homelessness, and ensuring families can thrive in safe homes.

We are a supportive, family-friendly workplace that values long-term employment, cultural connection, and the wellbeing of our staff.

The Role

We are looking for an Assets Officer to join our dedicated Housing and Homelessness Team. This role is vital in making sure IAC homes and properties are well maintained, safe, and meet community needs. You’ll work directly with tenants, contractors, and our housing team to deliver quality housing outcomes that make a real difference.

What We’re Looking For

Aboriginality is a must-have requirement (position identified under S14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).

Qualifications or experience in property or asset maintenance coordination.

Knowledge of Aboriginal housing needs and challenges.

Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 2010.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders.

Current NSW Driver’s Licence, WWCC & Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

What We Offer

We know housing work can be demanding, so we make sure our team feels supported and valued.

Competitive hourly rate of $51.00 (SCHADS Award Level 5) plus super and salary packaging.

Full-time, ongoing role (38 hours per week).

Mobile phone, laptop, and access to fleet vehicles.

A workplace culture that prioritises your wellbeing and professional growth.

Opportunities to develop your career while making a genuine difference in your community.

Ready to Join Us?

If you want to be part of an organisation committed to improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal families, apply now via SEEK with your resume and a cover letter outlining your interest.
