About Stage Queensland and QTouring

From 2023–2026, Stage Queensland, in partnership with Arts Queensland, is delivering a refreshed model of state-wide touring and engagement services, supported by a $1.3 million investment from the Queensland Government.

This evolved model strengthens Queensland’s touring and engagement ecosystem, supporting the delivery of sustainable arts and cultural experiences that connect artists and communities across the state.
Delivered through QTouring, these services operate within Stage Queensland’s governance framework to ensure sector alignment, consistency, and collaboration. To help achieve these objectives, QTouring is seeking a Producer / Touring & Engagement Advisor to broker relationships, produce key initiatives, and enhance sector capacity throughout Queensland.

Position Overview

The Producer / Touring & Engagement Advisor plays a pivotal role in QTouring’s mission to develop a sector that can deliver dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable arts experiences across Queensland.

This position is both outward-facing – building relationships with artists, producers, presenters, and communities – and inward-facing, supporting the development of efficient organisational systems, sector capacity building, and new touring models.

The Producer / Touring & Engagement Advisor will drive key QTouring initiatives – including Showcase, Gather Rounds, and assist in the development of new touring circuits. The Producer / Touring & Engagement Advisor is a connector and producer who contributes to the growth of Queensland’s performing arts touring ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Produce and deliver QTouring’s major programs and initiatives (including Showcase, Gather Rounds and new touring circuits) to a high professional standard.

Strengthen sector capacity through mentorship, professional development, and collaboration with independent artists and producers.

Participate in building, enhancing, and diversifying touring circuits to support broader cultural access and participation across Queensland.

Contribute to ensuring First Nations and culturally diverse voices are represented, supported, and celebrated across programming and engagement models.

Contribute to securing new partnerships, sponsorships, and funding opportunities to sustain and expand QTouring’s programs.

Where relevant, represent QTouring at sector gatherings, forums, and events, maintaining visibility and fostering strong relationships.

Contribute to QTouring’s strategic planning and reporting by providing insights, data, and case studies.

Uphold organisational values of inclusivity, cultural safety, collaboration, and accountability.

Maintain compliance with required criteria, including Working with Children Check and QLD Class C Driver’s Licence.

Tasks

Act as a primary point of contact for communities, presenters, producers, and artists, offering guidance and logistical support.

Produce and deliver Showcase and the Professional Development Conference in conjunction with Stage Queensland, including program curation and on-the-ground delivery.

Produce Gather Rounds as well as new initiatives.

Identify new communities and presenters as well as traditional and non-traditional venues.

Support tour-ready works and concepts, helping producers navigate the touring process.

Manage approved projects, budgets, and administrative systems to ensure efficiency, transparency, and timely delivery.

Collaborate with Marketing & Communications Lead on QTouring’s website, digital resource hub, social media, and public communications.

All staff are expected to uphold Stage Queensland’s reputation by demonstrating integrity, accountability, professionalism, and respect in every interaction. This includes honest communication, ethical conduct, support for an inclusive and collaborative culture, and consistently modelling behaviours that reflect the organisation’s values – at all levels, including leadership.
