The opportunity
The Assessment Officer is the first line of assessment of applications for community funding support including health, education, employment against established IBN Community Program policies. The Assessment Officer will provide a professional, friendly and customer centric service to Members.
Using your well-developed interpersonal skills you will build rapport and engage with clients in a contact centre environment with a supportive team, working 8.30-4.30 Monday to Friday (no rosters, weekend or after hours work).
This role will maintain accurate data entry, records management, administrative and contact centre duties as well as communication with key stakeholders.
The role
Assess and process applications in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
Data entry and integrity of member records.
Take corrective action, when required, based on document review and quality checks.
Communicate with members in a professional and customer focussed manner.
Contribute to the drafting and reviewing of policies and procedures for the Member Services Programs.
Continuously maintain confidential, sensitive and/or critical information, files, records and reports.
The requirements
Previous experience in an administrative or similar role, ideally in assessments.
Demonstrated high standards of personal ethics and integrity, transparent and professional decision making.
Demonstrated judgement, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
Ability to work well with others and to provide constructive feedback to team members.
Punctual and reliable work attendance and job performance.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Working with Aboriginal people and understanding of Aboriginal Australian culture (desirable)
