🍜 Kitchen & Events Assistant – Flying Woks (Ravenhall)

Casual Role | 30–40 hrs/week during peak season | Potential to grow into full-time

We’re Flying Woks — a Melbourne-based catering company specialising in live, on-site wok cooking and large-scale events across Victoria. We cater for groups from 50 to 2000, bringing fresh, vibrant food to corporate functions, schools, festivals and community events.

We’re looking for a practical, switched-on Kitchen & Events Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who’s keen to grow with a successful business, loves variety, and takes pride in doing great work.

🧰 What You’ll Be Doing

Working in our Ravenhall kitchen, assisting with food preparation and packing for functions

Learning and following Flying Woks’ systems and processes to prepare for large-scale events

Loading company vans, transporting equipment and food to event sites

Driving vans to and from events (manual handling required)

Setting up and packing down event equipment on-site

Supporting chefs and event leaders during functions

Serving customers and helping deliver a top-quality experience

Pitching in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly

💪 What We’re Looking For

Someone focused, reliable, and energetic — not glued to their phone

A genuine team player who wants to learn, follow systems, and help Flying Woks grow

Comfortable with manual work (lifting, loading, setting up)

Hospitality or events experience is ideal, but not essential

Cooking skills are a bonus — willingness to learn is even better

A current Working With Children Check is required

A valid driver’s licence (experience driving vans is a plus)

A positive, “let’s get it done” attitude

📅 Hours & Growth

Casual position initially

Late November & December are our busiest months — 30–40 hours per week is expected during this period

For the right person, there is potential to grow into a full-time role in 2026
