ABOUT SUMMERS ENGINEERING

Summers Engineering is a CNC repetition manufacturing business that has been operating in Brookvale, Australia since 1952. We're growing to become one of Australia's leading destinations for contract manufacturing.

This role is for an experienced individual who has 4+ years of recent experience programming and setting CNC machines. We're looking fro someone with top talent that shares our passion and wants to be part of a fast-moving team. You must be comfortable setting and operating CNC machines as being 70% of your role.

For this role, we will consider CNC Machinist experience on any type of CNC machine and structure the role to suit you at Summers.

REPSONSIBILITIES

Immediately, you will take responsibility for set up, programming and operating CNC machines that you are familiar with. Your responsibilities will be as follows:

Program, set and run a variety of CNC machines such CNC Mills, CNC Lathes and Sliding Head Lathe.

Set up tools, work holdings and prep jobs for different machining centres

Conduct final inspection and measuring of parts manufactured

Design work holdings for prototypes and production

Continue to learn and grow your CNC programming skills

Complete various production work mixed in with some prototype work for customers in the manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, defence and infrastructure space.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

4 + years of experience as a machinist or CNC machinist

Qualification in Fitting and Turning or similar

Experience with programming using CAM software (Fusion 360)

Strong computer skills and experience reading and interpreting engineering documents and drawings

Hungry to learn and grow

Have an A++ work ethic and are an incredible team played (“not my job” is not part of your vocabulary)

Work individually as well as part of the team

Proficiency with a CAD-CAM

Proficiency with Fusion360

Proficiency with Okuma OSP and FANUC
