Kickstart your career in government relations with a hands-on role at the heart of The BUSY Group’s strategic engagement efforts. As a Government Relations Coordinator intern/graduate, you’ll support senior leaders in building valuable connections with political offices, senior bureaucrats, and industry stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, gain real-world experience, and grow into a larger, impactful role as you help shape policy and advance our mission.
A Day in the Life
- Assisting with scheduling and coordinating meetings, briefings, and political events, gaining experience in high-level stakeholder engagement.
- Updating and managing the Political Stakeholder CRM, building your understanding of government networks and relationship management.
- Drafting clear and detailed correspondence and briefing notes for political and government audiences.
- Researching and monitoring government policy developments and summarising key insights to support team decision-making.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and the Executive Director’s EA to help organise logistics and ensure smooth stakeholder interactions.
This is a permanent full-time position based from our East Brisbane Office.

A bit about you…
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in government relations, stakeholder engagement, or a related administrative role.
- Tertiary Qualification in Political Science & Government or Business Administration & Management
- Strong understanding of political processes and government structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and briefing materials.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Resilient, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ethical standards and understanding of government contractual requirements.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes and a Blue Card
