Customer Support Officers
Customer Support Officers required for NSW Government Department in Wollongong. ASAP start until 22/02/2026 +possible extensions. Multiple roles available
6x Clerk Grade 1/2 - $35.15 per hour + super 4x Clerk Grade 3/4 - $37.13 per hour + super
Please note: shortlisted candidates must be willing to undergo reference checks at time of submission/prior to interviews.
Grade 1/2:
- Perform a range of customer services such as processing applications, payroll and compliance related tasks
- Respond to general enquiries which may include client eligibility, payroll, child protection, transport runs, in a confidential, responsive, customer-focused manner.
- Provide a range of administrative, keyboard and clerical support services; filing and records management, receipt and sorting of electronic and other mail, maintenance of official registers and documents, scanning and copying documents, compilation of manuals and reports, reception duties and preparing meeting papers and venues.
Grade 3/4:
- Perform a range of customer services to support including responding to general enquiries by providing accurate information, as necessary,
- Apply new and/or updated technology applications, systems, procedures and organisational methods to deliver efficient and effective e.g. TRIM & MS Office
- Provide a range of administrative, keyboard and clerical support services such as filing, records management , receipt and sorting of electronic and other mail, maintenance of official registers and documents
- Perform a range of duties relevant to the operations of the business unit such as transport run creation, data processing, checking and extracting data for reporting purposes and record creation and archiving
- Maintain records in both electronic (HPRM8)
- Prepare a range of documents, briefings and reports to meet internal and external requirements.
Selection criteria:
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent customer service skills – over the phone and email
- A current Working with Children Check for paid employment (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Flexibility to respond to changes as they arise
- Work with a high degree of sensitivity
- Excellent communication skills
