The purpose of the Operations Coordinator is to assist in the delivery of day to day venue operations. This includes coordination of accommodation services, cleaning and waste management, workplace health and safety, emergency and risk management, security operations access control the venue’s IPTV system.

Key Tasks

Coordinate all aspects of accommodation services of Chandler Lodge and Cabins including reservations, financial reconciliation, coordination of room servicing, linen and food supplies and guest check in and out.

Provide quality and timely administrative support to the Operations Manager to ensure all activities within the Operations department are coordinated. This includes providing support to the areas of Customer Service, Aquatics and Health and Fitness.

Provide support with the venue’s technical and timing gear systems, including the scheduling of maintenance and the development of procedures and training programs

Assist with the development, implementation, and review of operational procedures for non-event day venue presentation including cleaning and waste management, security, and accreditation.

Coordinate non event day security services including training and briefings for the static site team.

In conjunction with the Operations Manager coordinate and implement the venues WHS activities including compliance training and associated training.

Administer the venue’s incident reporting process and systems ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Oversee the use and operation of venues systems, including but not limited to CCTV, Access Control, IPTV and Keywatcher.

Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with stakeholder, tenants, and contractors.

Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with SQ’s policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of workplace health and safety, security management, equal employment opportunity, workplace harassment, bullying and discrimination.

About You

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position providing operational, event and/or facilities management support

Knowledge of operations within a sporting, events or multipurpose facility

Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of emergency management procedures and workplace health and safety legislation

Communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Experience in utilising Microsoft Office and other computer applications and systems to undertake the functions and requirements of the position

Ability to work within tight deadlines and to prioritise large volumes of tasks whilst applying high attention to detail.

Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of event procedures.

Ability to work autonomously.

High work ethic, commitment to professional presentation, ethical practice and flexibility in the workplace.

The SSC is a centre of excellence for high performance training and competition sporting programs, including the development of future elite athletes. Located at Chandler in Brisbane, the venue is a training base for Australia’s high-performance athletes for swimming, diving, and aerial and mogul skiers, as well as Queensland’s elite and development athletes in sports including swimming, diving, gymnastics, BMX, track cycling, water polo, artistic swimming, basketball and weightlifting.
